Abstract

Article 1: The shipping documents (commercial invoice - packing list - bill of lading) shall be accepted in electronic format, as received according to the advance cargo information (ACI) system, among the customs release documents of the cargo, upon recording the customs manifest in ledger no. 46 "Egyptian Customs", as long as the importer or agent thereof has approved them as shipping documents using the electronic signature. The foregoing shall take place provided that such electronic documents shall be kept in the secure electronic archive approved pursuant to the Law on Electronic Signature with NAFEZA platform, without prejudice to the right of the competent customs to demand any documents or data in hardcopy or softcopy that may be necessary for completing the final customs release process as legally prescribed.
