Abstract

Article 1: In the event of outbreak of epidemics or health pandemics, the Prime Minister, following the approval of the Cabinet, may issue a decree to take any of the required measures to combat such threats in order to preserve general health and safety. Measures include the following: Article 2: A Supreme Committee under the name of "Supreme Committee for the Management of Epidemics and Health Pandemics" shall be formed. It shall be chaired by the Prime Minister and its members shall compose of the ministers of Health and Population, Justice, Defense, Interior, Local Development, Tourism, Finance, Supply and Internal Trade, Education and Technical Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Social Solidarity, Head of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), Head of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management (UPA) hereinafter referred to in this law as 'The Committee'. The Chairman of the Committee may add other members to the Committee as he deems appropriate.
