Article 1: Without prejudice to the international conventions applicable in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the exemptions prescribed for military actions, missions, and requirements of defending the state and protecting the national security, as well as the exemptions prescribed for the activities of providing the basic utility services, the exemptions from taxes and duties, as stipulated by the laws, regulations and decrees issued for the state entities, such as the units of the State administrative machinery, local administrative units, public authorities and the bodies that have private budgets, as well as the entities and companies owned by the State or that the State contributes to their ownership, shall be cancelled with regard to the economic or investment activities carried out thereby, and shall be subject to the laws regulating such activities
