Abstract

Article 1: The minimum limit of wage at the private sector shall be L.E. 6000 (only Six Thousand Egyptian Pounds), with effect from 1/5/2024, as calculated on the basis of the wage prescribed by item-c of article (1) of the labour law, and including the employer’s share of the social insurance contributions. Article 2: If the establishment is exposed to economic circumstances that make it difficult to fulfil the minimum limit of wage, it may apply, through the federations it reports to, for obtaining an exception from the obligation referred to in article (1), as per the rules and procedures available on the official website of each of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the Ministry of Labour. The application shall be filed not later than the 15th of May, 2024.
